Lyndsey Bowen is a movement artist, aerialist, and classically trained ballet dancer originally from the Midwest and now based in Central North Carolina. She studied Digital and Studio Art at Missouri Southern State University and has a foundation in classical ballet and pointe. Lyndsey began her aerial journey in 2009 and is now a certified aerial instructor through the Born to Fly Aerial Fabric Instructor Program. She is a dual-level graduate of Paper Doll Militia’s Aerial Silks Teacher Training and is trained in their Vertical Theatre Method, which integrates aerial arts with narrative and physical theatre.

Her professional training lineage includes teacher training with Jessica Jay and Rain Anya of Paper Doll Militia, her aerial practicum with Daniela Torres, founder of Springfield Aerial Fitness, and certification and mentorship under Rebekah Leach, founder of Born to Fly and the AerialWorks Community. Lyndsey has also trained extensively across the United States with companies such as Quixotic Cirque Nouveau, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, and Lone Star Circus. Her broader training includes work with renowned instructors and choreographers including Veronica Blair, Mia Michaels, Nancy Smith, Dara Minkin, and Dr. Emily Scherb. In addition to aerial disciplines, she has received stilt walking and stilt acrobatics training from Danielle Hendricks (“Alexis Scissor Legs”).

With experience both on and off stage, Lyndsey has worked as an aerialist, dancer, director, stage manager, choreographer, and instructor. From 2012 to 2018 she was a key member of Midwest Regional Ballet, serving as Assistant to the Artistic Director, Aerial Coordinator, and Assistant School Director while performing in numerous theatrical productions. She later served as Studio Director and instructor at Girlfriends Fitness Boutique in Joplin, Missouri from 2018 to 2024, where she taught aerial arts, dance, and fitness and produced youth circus programming.

Lyndsey’s performance career spans contemporary circus, musical theatre, and immersive event entertainment. In 2024 she performed professionally with Inspyral Circus, appearing in festivals and special events including Sippin’ on the Square, Firefly Fling, and the Tulsa State Fair. She has also performed featured roles in theatrical productions such as Cats, Evita, and Dracula, along with numerous cabaret productions, exhibitions, and collaborative works. In addition to aerial performance, Lyndsey works as a stilt walker and movement performer for festivals, theatrical productions, and immersive events.

After relocating to North Carolina in 2025, Lyndsey served as show director for Cirque de Vol’s pre-professional youth program, Pa’Volar, developing contemporary circus productions for emerging artists. She currently serves on faculty with Pura Vida Studio as an aerial instructor and performer and made her East Coast performance debut in the 2025 Carolina Circus Festival Professional Show.

Lyndsey has been teaching dance and fitness since 2007, aerial arts since 2013, and yoga and flexibility since 2017. Across all of her work—as a performer, educator, and director—her goal is to promote the performing arts and holistic wellness in every community she serves, making movement training accessible, empowering, and joyful for people of all backgrounds.
